# Information flow

The information flow area governs how information moves through the network. It includes protocols for:

**Transparent communication** – how information moves between nodes of the network. The primary structural mechanism for inter-circle information flow is linking or [weaving](/weaving-between-circles.md): the weaver carries not only decisions and agenda items but felt experience between the two spaces they inhabit. Weaving thus double-functions as a mechanism for both governance alignment and information flow. Where circles are not directly linked, [Open decision records](/open-decision-records.md) ensure that governance information is accessible to anyone in the network.

**Shared learning** – how insights reach those who need them.

Each protocol requires [ritual, critique and contemplation](/every-protocol-has-three-inseparable-layers.md) attending to: what information is being suppressed, who controls narrative, and whose stories get amplified.

This area is sketched at the principles level; its specific protocols remain to be developed.
